Baking Series: Sourdough Bread
Event description
SOURDOUGH BREAD MAKING
Date: April 27th 30, 2-5pm
This is an adult class (Kids 12 and older accompanied by an adult student are welcome.)
We teach a lot of classes at our cooking school, menus from AtoZ, but one of the most popular is sourdough bread making. The goal for this class, taught by instructor Jeff King, is to teach you the skills and provide you with the tools to make nutritious, delicious and fresh sourdough bread at home. Your friends and family will thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
In class, you'll mill grain into flour to feed your starter, so it blossoms it into a whole-grain leaven; weigh and hand-mix dough; perform stretches and folds; learn dough shaping techniques; then put your bread dough into your banneton to take home and bake off. You'll also bake bread in class to take home. Every step of the sourdough bread making process we cover in just 3 hours.
Price includes all the tools you need to make bread at home, including a banneton, lame, bench knife & dough scraper. As well as that loaf you baked in class, that ready-to-bake dough you shaped, and the instructor's 14-year old starter. And of course the recipe.
