    Basketball Competition

    Dates: Sunday 1st September, 2024

    Time: 10am to 1pm

    Location: Aquinas College, 58 Mount Henry Rd, Salter Point WA 6152

    Cost: $20

    Partners: Aquinas College

    Competition details: 

    Special Olympics local competitions are for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism, who wish to compete against other athletes in their chosen sport,and qualify for Special Olympics' state and national competitions. They include:

    - High-quality basketball competition, with multiple divisions for beginner, intermediate and advanced players

    - Qualified umpires and game support officers

    - Award presentation, with prizes and certificates

    - Performance results and feedback

    - Fun unified events (where athletes with and without intellectual disabilities play together)

    Competition schedule: (*Draft only)

    10:00am - Welcome

    10:10am - Warm-up / skills assessments

    11:15am – Basketball games

    12:30pm - Fun Unified game/s

    12:50pm – Award Presentations

    Note: The final schedule will be included in the information pack sent out to all athletes prior to the day once all athlete registrations have been received.

    Who can get involved? 

    - Athletes who are registered as 2024 Special Olympics members 

    or

    - Athletes who currently train and/or compete in basketball with a local club or team

    How to register: 

    To compete in the competition, athletes must register online via this page by Friday, 30th August. Athletes register as an individual player, and teams will be determined on the day.

    Before the day, all registered athletes will receive an information pack with further information on the event.
