Want to learn more about beaver dam analogs (BDAs) and process-based restoration (PBR) on the Central Coast?

Join us on a guided tour of an active restoration site on Walters Creek in the Morro Bay Watershed! Together we will visit the Walters Creek PBR Project, an active restoration site in its second year of implementation. You'll get to see for yourself how process-based restoration works and hear directly from the folks who designed and implemented this project.

All tours will take place at 9:30am - 12:00pm.

You'll learn:

How BDAs and related tools can restore ecological function to degraded streams
Stories of adaptive management through multiple phases of implementation
How to think like a beaver and have a conversation with the creek

Where to meet:

We will meet at the parking lot (35.333860, -120.743617) across the street from the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education (3350 Education Dr, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405).
From the meeting location, we will carpool/caravan to the project site, which is located in a gated area on private property.
Please show up on time. If you arrive after we have already left for the project site, you will not be able to join us.

Participants will leave with a better understanding of what it takes to implement process-based restoration projects and the benefits of using this restoration method.
