Absolutely loved the course, finally I'm starting to get an understanding of how my camera works. Callan presents very well and gave us plenty of opportunities to practice the skills he taught us. 5/5

This relaxed and practical workshop is designed for anyone who wants to gain confidence using their camera's more advanced settings and start taking control of their photography.
In one afternoon we'll cover the basic fundamentals of photography, including how to achieve control over your exposure, focus, and overall photographic result. I'll help you understand your camera, lenses, and available settings that will help., I'll also teach you simple techniques for capturing the shot how you see it, as well as touch upon more advanced techniques to show you what photography is capable of.

FAQs
- I'm a complete beginner and have no idea what I'm doing, Is this course suitable?
Yep! It's perfect. This day is designed for both beginners or more experienced photographers. Beginners get a safe space to ask any question they need to ask while more experienced photographers get a fun day out to meet people and learn a few more tricks.
We'll start with the basics of getting you comfortable exploring photography which will give you all the tools you need to take it further and possibly do any specialised courses in the future. No pressure to learn, just to enjoy!
- What photography equipment do I need to bring?
Whatever camera you have! Film camera, phone, mirrorless, bridging, compact or DSLR,! if it records an image I can show you how to use it.
You'll learn enough about light and composition and storytelling to justify the course even with a fully auto camera.
However.... To get full value from the day I'd recommend any camera with manual control. Preferably with as many interchangeable lenses as you have and a tripod. Id suggest bringing a basic 50mm prime lens or equivalent as well. Bring what you have and are happy to carry and ill show you how tho use it.
- What if the weather is terrible and its raining?
Firstly terrible weather makes for cool shots so its still on...I'll have a few locations in mind and I'll choose one that provides good cover just in case. If it's truly terrible and a danger to travel the course will be rescheduled or refunded.
