Event description

It's time to demystify mindfulness and make these ancient contemplative practices and principles accessible to all! I WISH I learned this when I was younger!

Understanding Mindfulness is the first session of the BEGINNER's GUIDE TO MINDFULNESS  package - part of the Wellness in the WILD 2024 Summer Series. This offering is designed for community members eager to manage and reduce stress through establishing a regular mindfulness practice. Each session offers insights into the core aspects of mindfulness through practical exercises, discussions, and guided meditations. Discover the tools, resources, and community of support that will enhance your mental clarity, emotional stability, and overall well-being.

Drop in for a single session or progress through the four-week series.

Understanding Mindfulness  - Session 1
Houge Park, San Jose
  • Content: Understanding Mindfulness - what it is and isn't. During the hour we will explore the neuroscience of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Come as you are and settle in for an awareness of breath and body meditation from a certified mindfulness practitioner and workplace facilitator, followed by reflection, open dialogue, and questions. Leave with a basic understanding of mindfulness and an effective stress reduction practice you can use at home with the family, at work, or on the go. This session will build the foundation for the next three sessions, designed to help you build and maintain a regular mindfulness practice to effectively reduce and prevent the build-up of toxic stress.

  • Want to deepen your practice? Check out the GUIDED WELLNESS WALKS, designed to promote a deeper more mindful connection with mother nature and unlock your natural intelligence, perfect for integrating and embodying the techniques you learn each week and growing your community of support!
