Beginners Gel Plate Printing with Stencils and Image Transfers


Event description

Learn gel plate printing with local artist Grace Cross and create a series of prints for collage, artist books, cards and beyond. Gel printing is a creative way to produce your own unique papers and designs.

You will learn to print using an A4 reusable printing gel plate. The gel plate has a sensitive surface which accentuates both texture and details. Gel plates are easy to travel with allowing you to keep creating. 

During this workshop you will:

.Be introduced to the gel plate and monotype printing. 

.Learn about the equipment used and proper paint application and drying techniques to ensure a successful print.

.Explore different and simple methods of layering and design using botanicals, stencils and image transfers. 

.Print on most paper surfaces and even fabric and learn what papers work the best.

All materials for this workshop are provided. Each participant will have access to an  A5 Gel Plate and brayer (roller) to utilise for the duration of the workshop as well as papers and acrylic paints. 

The tutor will provide a list to each participant of things to bring for the workshop. 

Afternoon Tea is also provided.
