Behind the Trails: Guided Hike + Stewardship Experience with SORBA Chattanooga

Visit Chattanooga has a fantastic lineup of tours available to WITS attendees. These day tours are only for attendees with a confirmed ticket in their name to WITS 2026.

Join SORBA Chattanooga for a behind-the-scenes experience at Raccoon Mountain—one of the most iconic outdoor destinations in the region—for a guided hike, meaningful connection, and hands-on stewardship.

The morning begins with a short welcome and high-level overview of SORBA Chattanooga and the role women have played in advocating for, building, and maintaining more than 170 miles of mountain bike–accessible, multi-use trails across the greater Chattanooga area. Participants will meet women leaders who help shape Chattanooga’s outdoor culture through trail stewardship, collaboration, and community building.

From there, attendees will enjoy a guided hike to scenic overlooks offering classic Chattanooga views and prime photo and video opportunities. Along the way, participants will learn how trail systems like Raccoon Mountain contribute to sustainability, access, and Chattanooga’s identity as an outdoor city.

At the midpoint, participants can choose their own adventure:
• Trail Stewardship Option: Take part in a light, hands-on trail care activity alongside SORBA volunteers—accessible to all experience levels.
• Continued Guided Hike: Explore more of Raccoon Mountain’s trails and viewpoints.
• Reflective Journaling Option: Pause at an overlook with a guided journaling prompt focused on place, leadership, and connection to the outdoors.

This experience is designed to be welcoming, flexible, and impactful—allowing participants to give back in a way that feels meaningful to them while gaining a deeper understanding of Chattanooga’s trail systems and the people who care for them.

• If you can no longer attend, you must cancel using the link in your confirmation email by May 19, 2026
• Late cancellations after this date will incur a $50 USD fee per tour
