Ribcage Rising: A masterclass in Embodied Breath and Fascia in Motion

This 2-hour masterclass is a continuation of our exploration into restoring balance between the pelvis and ribcage — or an invitation to go deeper into harmonizing the relationship between the pelvic and respiratory diaphragms. Whether you joined the previous session or not, this masterclass stands alone as a complete experience. Using FAMO Fascia Movement principles and the core intelligence of Pilates, we zoom in on the ribcage as a central hub of breath, support, and dynamic movement.

While the ribcage is our focus, we know that the body never moves in isolation. This class invites you into a full-body journey, tapping into the ribcage’s connections to the spine, pelvis, limbs, and beyond — through movement, awareness, and fascial continuity.

We’ll explore:

• The diaphragm as the “second heart” — its anatomical and energetic role in vitality and movement
• Breathwork that expand our capacity, presence, and inner spaciousness — and how fuller breath supports the tissues around the spine and ribcage to become more limber, hydrated, and gliding with ease
• Uncovering the pathways that link the ribcage’s myofascia to the entire body, promoting fluid movement and integration from the centre to the periphery.
• A movement-based approach to unravelling rotations, shifts, and tilts of the ribcage — restoring a sense of freedom, alignment, and integration
• Self-massage and embodied release tools to soften restrictions and enhance ribcage mobility

A well-functioning, expansive ribcage — along with its surrounding and internal structures — is profoundly powerful. It not only frees the breath but also brings fluidity, support, and balance to the entire body. When the ribcage moves well, everything moves better.
