A LITTLE ABOUT BENJAMIN SKEPPER AND THIS VERY INTIMATE SHOW

Melbourne/Naarm-born, Skepper is a classically trained musician, an innovator fascinated by evolving technologies and our deepest corporeal connections to music. He’s no less fascinated by issues of identity, human rights and the many relationships between sound, medicine and healing.

Following critical acclaim for multiple sell-out performances at Sydney Festival earlier this year, Skepper will unveil new compositions that delve into themes about love, desire, longing, and hope. Blending modern classical piano with luscious strings and ambient electronic nuances his music evokes profound emotional responses while blurring the boundaries between classical and contemporary music. Intimate, haunting and introspective.

History and tradition fuses with the contemporary in a site specific installation at the iconic Fitzroy Town Hall. Always pushing the boundaries of experimentation with cutting edge sound design and new technology, this multi-sensory deep listening experience will take its audience on a journey through time, space and into self-reflection.

A pop-up bar featuring artisanal beers by Japanese craft brewery COEDO and premium sake and umeshu infused with gold leaf from 450 year old Tsuki no Katsura in Kyoto, will further delight your senses.

All are welcome, and we look forward to sharing this beautiful experience together.
