Berwick - Casey-Cardinia Group of the Australian Breastfeeding Association
Description
Join South Eastern Babywearing Group at the Australian Breastfeeding Association Casey-Cardinia Group’s weekly Breastfeeding Drop-in, Chat and Play.
Babywearing support is available on the first Tuesday of each month.
These relaxed, family-friendly mornings are an opportunity to receive practical help, explore different baby carriers and connect with other local families.
Whether you are expecting a baby, completely new to babywearing, already using a carrier or looking for a more comfortable way to carry your growing child, you are warmly invited.
Babywearing support
South Eastern Babywearing Group will bring a range of baby carriers and demonstration dolls for families to see, feel and try.
Our babywearing educators can help you:
Fit and adjust your own carrier safely and comfortably
Explore different carrier styles
Understand which options may suit your baby’s age and stage
Improve comfort for both you and your baby
Learn about safe positioning
Build confidence using a carrier you already own
You do not need to own a carrier or know which carrier you are interested in.
We provide free babywearing support and education. We have no products to sell and there is no pressure to purchase anything.
Breastfeeding support and connection
The babywearing session runs alongside the ABA Casey-Cardinia Breastfeeding Drop-in, Chat and Play.
Trained Australian Breastfeeding Association volunteers are available to provide breastfeeding information and support.
You are also welcome to come for a cuppa, conversation and connection with other local families.
Who is welcome?
Everyone is welcome.
You do not need to be breastfeeding or be a member of the Australian Breastfeeding Association.
Expectant parents, parents, carers, grandparents and support people are warmly invited. Babies, toddlers and older children are welcome.
Families who are breastfeeding, expressing, mixed feeding, bottle feeding or no longer breastfeeding are all welcome without judgement.
Session timing
The session runs from 10 am until 12 pm.
This is a relaxed drop-in event, so you may arrive and leave whenever it suits your family.
We recommend arriving earlier if you would like individual carrier fitting or hands-on babywearing support. Fittings take time, and it may not be possible to begin a new fitting close to the end of the session.
What to bring
Bring your baby carrier if you already have one and would like help adjusting or using it.
You are also welcome to attend without a carrier. We will have a selection available to demonstrate and try.
Expectant parents can practise with one of our demonstration dolls.
Bookings
This is a free event, but registration is requested so we can:
Plan for the number of families attending
Bring an appropriate selection of carriers
Ensure we can provide hands-on support
Contact registered families if arrangements need to change
Please make one booking for each family attending.
You only need to register for the date you plan to attend.
