Event description

Calling all international students, international workers, people from migrant and refugee backgrounds and diverse communities living or working in or near Shepparton!

About

Do you have an interest in storytelling, culture and art?  As part of Shepparton Festival 2024, we'd like to invite you to be part of a series of creative workshops.

The workshops will cover a range of different artistic and creative mediums, and will be facilitated by a range of talented and passionate local artists. During the workshops you will be encouraged to explore your various cultural and other identities, and find a way to share your story through the creation of an artwork, that will then be displayed as part of an exhibition at The G.R.A.I.N Store, Nathalia!

You do not need to have any artistic experience to participate in this project, and absolute beginners are very welcome! All you need is a desire to give it a go, learn some new skills, meet some new people and share your story.

Why

Through this project, you will be able to:

  • Make friends with others in your local community
  • Develop your storytelling skills in different art forms
  • Receive a $50 stipend towards any travel costs
  • Showcase your artwork in an exhibition at The G.R.A.I.N Store Nathalia
  • Express your identity beyond single labels and share your unique story through a creative medium

These workshops will be held after work hours and during weekends.
