Speaker Bio:

Dawn began her journey in the UK, where her passion for working with neurodivergent children ignited. After relocating to Christchurch, she founded The Buddy Zone, a vision she had always dreamed of creating. The Buddy Zone has now been supporting families and young people across New Zealand for over 20 years.

Dawn is a dedicated neurodiversity advocate and consultantwho recognises that there is no one "right" way of thinking, learning, or behaving. She encourages others to see neurological differences through a positive lens —fostering acceptance, understanding, and inclusion. Her work is grounded in the belief that all children deserve environments that support them to thrive.

Dawn has a passion for learning and sharing knowledge and approaches with whānau, educators, and fellow professionals. She values collaboration and ensures that the support networkaround each child helps to foster environments of acceptance, inclusion and understanding.
