Dear riders,

Thank you for registering for our Blues and Brews Bike Tour on July 25th! We are so excited to show you the dynamic businesses along the North Branch. Ahead of our ride tomorrow, we wanted to provide some important information as well as safety suggestions.

Logistics

The tour begins at the corner of Elston and Blackhawk Street, at The Salt Shed (1357 Elston Ave). Then we will visit The Hideout, Dolce Arte at Rockwell on the River, learn about Elston Electric, and cross the Riverview Bridge, and ride to Delmark Records. The tour concludes at Burning Bush Brewery. At the brewery, we will be seated in the tap room to enjoy complimentary pizza. The tour is approximately 5 miles. The majority of the ride will be on Elston Ave, where there are protected bike lanes.

We will have a NBW employee stationed at the front, middle, and back of the group. Due to traffic, and in the interest of safety, our group may split at times, but we will all connect at each stop. Please feel free to bike at your own pace.

Lunch will be provided when we end the tour at Burning Bush Brewery. When the tour is over, the group will not ride back to The Salt Shed. If you need to return to the starting point of the tour, please find other riders who need to do the same and consider riding as a group.

Preparing for the Ride

Check to make sure your bike is in good shape: check your brakes, inflate your tires, and make any adjustments you need to stay comfortable. Bring a bike lock if you'd like, but most stops do not have enough bike parking. Someone from NBW will watch the bikes during the stops.

Drink plenty of water today and tomorrow leading up to the ride. Bring a water bottle with you. There will be opportunities to fill it up along the ride.

Eat breakfast.

Wear sunscreen. The weather on Saturday is supposed to be sunny with a high of 84 degrees.

Wear a helmet. Safety first!

Your registration serves as consent to our events waiver, please see here for more information and to view the waiver.

Thank you again for registering for our third annual bike tour! All proceeds from the tour support our mission to strengthen local businesses and the creation of high-quality jobs for Chicago residents.
