Bird Walk at Bowman's Beach
Event description
Leading up to the 126th Christmas Bird Count, SCCF and the Sanibel Captiva Audubon Society are holding bird walks around Sanibel and Fort Myers. Join us at Bowman’s Beach on Sanibel on Wednesday, Dec. 3, to observe various shorebirds, wading birds, and other avian species that call the island home either year-round or in fall and winter. Binoculars are recommended, and we also have a few spare pairs for those without their own!
Bowman’s Beach is located at 1700 Bowman’s Beach Road, Sanibel, FL. Wear comfortable shoes that can get sandy and bring water. Bugs can be bothersome in the early morning, so long pants and long sleeves are always recommended. There are public restrooms near the parking lot. Vehicles with Sanibel A/B stickers or Lee County parking passes can park for free, and others can pay at the kiosk. We will meet by the bridge.
