Bird Walk at SCCF's Bailey Homestead
Event description
Leading up to the 126th Christmas Bird Count, SCCF and the Sanibel Captiva Audubon Society are holding bird walks around Sanibel and Fort Myers. Join us at the Shipley Trail on SCCF’s Bailey Homestead Preserve on Sunday, Dec. 14, to observe various songbirds, wading birds, shorebirds, and other avian species that call Sanibel home either year-round or in fall and winter. Binoculars are recommended, and we also have a few spare pairs for those without their own!
The trails are shell/gravel, and we may walk up to 1.5 miles total. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Bugs can be bothersome in the early morning, so long pants and long sleeves are always recommended. Meet at Roadside City Park (right beside the SCCF Native Landscapes & Garden Center), and park outside of the gate. Parking is free.
