Birding Bonanza at Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge

Location: Meet at Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge
Cost: $40 for MNHC members, $45 for non-members (some scholarships available – call 406.327.0405 for more information)
Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge is teeming with thousands of birds during spring, making it the most exciting time of year for birding. From sandhill cranes and northern shovelers to cinnamon teal and yellow-headed blackbirds, you will see at least three dozen species on this Birding Bonaza with Elena Ulev! Learn the basics, practice skills, or try to spot a bird on you list- beginners to experts are welcome!
Activity level: easy. Walking will be on flat ground for up to one mile of the Kenai Trail.
What to Bring:
- Clothes appropriate for changing Montana weather conditions- layers, rain or shine, walking shoes or boots
- Water/snacks
- Binoculars (we will have some borrow)
- Anything you need to be comfortable standing and walking for 2 hours outside
Instructor: Elena Ulev is a Montana Master Naturalist, Certified Interpretive Guide and owner of Blue Heron Nature Tours. She has 26 years of experience birding professionally and for fun in Montana. Lee Metcalf is her favorite place to bird! To date, she has recorded 105 species there!

The course fee (minus a 25% administrative fee) is refundable if a cancellation is made up to 7 days before the event. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after this deadline. See our full refund/cancellation policy here.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
