One of Brooklyn's largest Jewish family celebrations is back! 🇮🇱🎉

Step into our lively, Israeli-style שוק (Shuk / marketplace) right here in Brooklyn.

Our annual Yom Ha’atzmaut Family Mesibah (Party) transforms our space into a bustling marketplace - filled with music, color, creativity, and hands-on experiences for all ages. Wander בין הדוכנים (between the “stalls”) as you explore interactive activities, art, and moments of connection throughout the space.

Strokes of Hope: A Special Exhibition of the Daily Postcard (הגלויה היומית) Project by Zeev Engelmayer (זאב אנגלמאיר)

Experience a powerful visual installation created in response to October 7th by Zeev Engelmayer. What began as a personal act of processing has become The Daily Postcard—a moving collection honoring hostages and families while capturing moments of humanity and resilience. This exhibit offers a space for reflection within the larger celebration—holding both memory and hope.

  • Community Service: The Flower Man Project 🌻

Community Service: The Flower Man Project 🌻

Inspired by a grassroots initiative in Israel in honor of Sgt. Ariel Sosnov (z"l), families are invited to take part in a hands-on service experience. Create small floral arrangements and write personalized Shabbat cards, which will be delivered to elderly Jewish neighbors in Brooklyn as Shabbat begins. A meaningful way for families to give back—together.💙

🤝 💙 A True Brooklyn Community Celebration

Hosted at The Senesh School, this event is presented in partnership with a broad and growing coalition of Brooklyn congregations and organizations:

Camp Kef, East Midwood Jewish Center, Flatbush Jewish Center, Israeli American Council, JCC Brooklyn, Jewish Agency for Israel, Kane Street Synagogue, PJ Library, Repair the World, Rishon BeYahad (ראשון ביחד), Romemu Brooklyn, and Sprout Brooklyn Day Camp.

🧡 A Special Thank You

This celebration would not be possible without the extraordinary partnership of the Senesh Parent Association (PA).

From early planning to day-of execution, PA volunteers help bring every detail of this program to life—contributing time, creativity, and care behind the scenes and on the ground.

We are deeply grateful for their leadership, energy, and commitment to building joyful Jewish community together.

Community Sponsors & Supporters

This event is made possible through the generosity of local businesses, community members, and friends who have contributed resources, funding, and in-kind support to help bring the shuk to life.

With Gratitude 💛
