This full-day workshop is designed for anyone who supports children or adults with disability—support workers, teachers, therapists, parents, educators, or allied health professionals. Whether you’re new to the sector or have decades of experience, this session will offer fresh, practical insights that deepen your understanding of sensory awareness and movement differences.
Led by Joyce-Lyn Smith from PoDDSS (Professional Disability Development Supports and Services), the session explores how sensory and movement differences can influence how individuals experience and interact with the world. Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of how to adapt support, respond to sensory needs, and create more inclusive and safe environments.
What past participants have said:
🗣️ “Where were you 25 years ago? I could have done with this training at the start of my career.”
🗣️ “Best professional development I’ve done in quite some time.”
🗣️ “Our staff are still talking about the insights months later.”
This workshop is part of a regional initiative funded by the NDIA through Outback Independent Living’s Peer Networks and Capacity Building program. It aligns with our Thriving Goals to support people with disability to live their best lives in the bush.
