Event description

M16 Artspace is pleased to announce the opening of three new exhibitions.

Opening Thursday 20 March 2025, 6pm-8pm

Gallery 1 | On Show - The Four Elements

Canberra Art Workshop

The annual On Show exhibition presents a diverse collection of works by Canberra Art Workshop members, each responding to the 2025 theme, The Four Elements.

Through painting, printmaking, sculpture, drawing, encaustic, pastel, and more, artists explore the influence of earth, air, fire, and water on humanity, nature, and the environment.

Gallery 2 | Colour Coding

Michael Carroll Goudge

Michael Carroll Goudge, initially working in traditional realism, has recently embraced abstract and minimal expressions in his broad art practice. His latest works feature atmospheric paintings focused on colour interaction and minimalist sculptural forms comprised of rocks and found objects. Together, they explore existential themes of contradiction and harmony, with a clear connection between the two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms.

Gallery 3 | Beyond the Verandah
Lynne Thomas

Beyond the Verandah brings into focus the unassuming flowers of the street trees, invasive weeds and nocturnal flowers of the Wide Bay-Burnett Region of Queensland. Lynne Thomas’ selection of watercolours reveals their beauty and the ephemerality they hold.

Beyond the Verandah is supported by The Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Bundaberg Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

Exhibitions run from Friday 21 March to Sunday 13 April 2025

Gallery opening times: Wednesday to Sunday, 12 - 5pm.

M16 Artspace operates on the lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people. We honour and pay our respects to their traditional custodians. We acknowledge this land always was and always will be the country of Australia’s First Nations People. Sovereignty was never ceded.
