๐๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ญ| โOn Show โ Sustainabilityโ
Canberra Art Workshop
โOn Show โ Sustainabilityโ is a group exhibition by the members of the Canberra Art Workshop (CAW), focusing on the theme of creating a world that sustains both us and future generations, alongside our natural environment.
๐๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฎ| โWomen Who Rendered Blindโ
Sepideh Farzam
Two years ago, Iranian women protested restrictive laws, focusing on eliminating barriers to gender equality, notably against mandatory veiling. Security forces' violent responses, including blinding protestors, sparked outrage. Inspired by these events, Sepideh Farzam creates textile installations to honour women's resilience and advocate for change, symbolising their struggles globally.
๐๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฏ| โLife in the Systemโ
Melanie Olde
Life in the System represents Oldeโs ongoing exploration of hand-woven 3-dimensional fabric forms that mimic living tissue, life-like structures and functions. In this new work, Olde uses weaving as a metaphor for complexity within life systems: the small individual elements and rules acting cumulatively upon the whole, resulting in emergent behaviour.
