Description

Step into the magical world of The Dandelion's Promise for an afternoon of storytelling, imagination and mindfulness... Join us on Friday 25 September, 1pm-2pm for a special school holiday storytime session with author Jennifer R. Reyes reading her brand new picture book The Dandelion's Promise.

Jennifer R. Reyes will bring her whimsical picture book to life through an interactive storytime, mindfulness activities, movement and playful exploration inspired by the Australian Daintree Rainforest. Children will discover simple mindfulness tools while meeting Australian animals, engaging their five senses, and learning that even when life changes, we can find courage, calm and a sense of belonging.

Perfect for children aged 4 to 8, this fun-filled event encourages creativity, confidence and emotional wellbeing through the power of story.

The Dandelion's Promise is a beautifully illustrated rhyming picture book set in the breathtaking Daintree Rainforest. Follow a little girl and her faithful dog, Bailey, as they navigate the big emotions of moving to a new home. Chasing a floating dandelion leads them on an unforgettable adventure where friendly Australian animals teach her to slow down and notice the world through her five senses, and discover that home isn't just a place; it's a feeling we carry with us.

Along the way, children will laugh, explore, and learn to use their five senses to notice the beauty all around them. Woven gently through the adventure are heartfelt lessons about bravery, friendship, mindfulness and finding happiness... even when life changes in unexpected ways.

Filled with mindfulness, friendship and wonder, this story inspires children to embrace change with curiosity and courage.

Jennifer R. Reyes is an Australian children's author, physiotherapist, mum of two adventurous little girls, and a firm believer in the magic of stories. She wrote The Dandelion's Promise after seeing how powerful books can be in helping children navigate big feelings, embrace change, and discover the beauty in the world around them.

When she's not treating patients or writing her next story, you'll usually find her exploring nature with her family, wandering rainforest trails in search of wildlife, enjoying a good coffee, or turning everyday moments into magical adventures. Jennifer hopes every child who opens one of her books feels inspired to slow down, use their imagination, and discover that even the smallest moments can grow into something extraordinary.

Book signing available after the event. Copies of The Dandelion's Promise will be available for purchase on the day.
