Boundary Setting and Protective Behaviours #2
Event description
Social distance, personal space and social/sexual concepts are extremely important life skills for everyone to know. At the same time, they are not easy skills to teach and can be even more difficult to teach to people with disability.
This workshop introduces the two fundamental messages of Protective Behaviours and strategies to support teaching them.
One of these strategies includes the Social Circle Concept (SCC). SCC is an educational strategy that assists people to understand social, physical and emotional distances. SCC was developed to give people with disabilities an understanding of personal boundaries which is an essential element of Protective Behaviours.
This Workshop is for parents, carers, students, teachers and health professionals. There is a limit of 3 participants from the same organisation.
This is a full day workshop and is catered for morning tea and lunch. Please bring your own water bottle.
