Event description

Social distance, personal space and social/sexual concepts are extremely important life skills for everyone to know. At the same time, they are not easy skills to teach and require additional strategies and support for people with disability.

This workshop introduces the two fundamental messages of Protective Behaviours and strategies to support teaching them.

One of these strategies includes the Social Circle Concept (SCC). SCC is an educational strategy that assists people to understand social, physical and emotional distances. SCC was developed to give people with disabilities an understanding of personal boundaries which is an essential element of Protective Behaviours.

Our workshops are for parents, carers, students, teachers and health professionals. There is a limit of 3 participants from the same organisation.

This is a full day workshop with coffee/tea and a light morning tea. Please bring your own lunch and water bottle. We have a fridge and microwave that you're welcome to use.

Please note: if you are a HCC holder 50% of the ticket price ($60) will be refunded on proof of HCC. You can upload a photo of your HCC at the time of ordering for a faster refund.
