Branching Out: Parliament House garden walk and join in with the Parliament House hosted Indigenous stargazing event

Join Kelly from the Conservation Council for a relaxed walk through the native gardens of Parliament House. After a short break we'll join an Indigenous Stargazing event hosted by Parliament House.

Led by Indigenous Astronomer and Proud Gamilaraay/Yuwaalaraay man Peter Swanton, in association with the ANU Astronomy Society, we'll learn about Indigenous astronomy and how First Nations people have used the stars for navigation and cultural practices across a millennium.

Note that If you register here you do not need to also register for the stargazing event as Kelly has registered for tickets already.

WALK DETAILS

• 4:30pm to 6:00pm - Landscape and Gardens walk at Parliament House with Kelly from the Conservation Council

• 6:00pm to 7:30pm - Join in with the Parliament House Indigenous Stargazing event led by Indigenous Astronomer and Proud Gamilaraay/Yuwaalaraay man Peter Swanton

MEETING LOCATION

• Australian Parliament House

• The exact meeting location will be provided to registered people prior to the event

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR

• Warm (long/sleeved) clothes

• Enclosed shoes

• Hat / Beanie

• Winter jacket

• Gloves

• Sunscreen
