Breathe, Move, Yin
A breathwork, yin yoga & movement journey
📅 Monday 28th September | 🕕 6:00–7:30pm | 📍 South Hall, Warriewood Community Center
Join Brad Lewis and Becc Hannan for 90 minutes of restorative movement, breath and deep, settling rest.
Beginning with Qi Gong and fascia focused movement together we set the conditions to move into a deeper sense of inner space with somatic yin, before gently processing residual tension and stress with restorative breathwork. To complete the session you’ll be guided into deep, soothing rest with yoga nidra. We are excited to collaborate and bring a well balanced, warmly welcoming session to leave you feeling more connected, reset and rested with a cup that overflows into your week
Brad and Becc are experienced and passionate breathwork, somatic and nervous system practitioners (also self confessed science nerds) who love to share these supportive practices with community, to connect, replenish and have some fun along the way.
This session is open to all, no prior breathwork or yoga experience required - simply bring a curious mind and a willing body, come just as you are and we will take care of the rest
For those who like to know more about why ->
Why Qi Gong and Fascia Focused movement?
Qi Gong invites slow, flowing movement, synced with the breath to gently reconnect the mind and body. Our fascia, the connective tissue that’s a gel like webbing, woven throughout our entire internal system, is one of the most important and often most overlooked gateways to overall wellness. Fascia focused movement brings lengthening, nourishment and hydration to fascia that has become stiff, tense and “sticky” from sedentary habits, stress and repetitive postures (being on screens, at desks, etc.) - you can never overdose on fascia health
Why Yin?
Yin is a relaxing, passive movement practice that also supports the fascia to lengthen, hydrate and unwind tension. Shapes are held, with support, in longer holds than traditional yoga. Each shape invites stillness and downregulation of the nervous system, while encouraging energy to flow more freely throughout the body, helping “blockages” to dissolve. Yin creates spaciousness in the body which in turn quietens busy minds.
Why Breath?
Our restorative breathwork practice creates a gentle, supported activation of the sympathetic system, providing a gateway to process residual stress that has become stored in the body and mind. This style of breath rebalances the nervous system, calms the mind before drifting into deep rest and reset through yoga nidra.
