Danielle Scrimshaw is a writer and amateur bird watcher who lives in Melbourne's western suburbs. Her first book, She and Her Pretty Friend, was published by Ultimo Press in 2023 and explores the history of queer women in Australia from the 1840s to 1980s. She has additionally been published in Voiceworks, Overland, Archer Magazine and The Guardian.
Jill Blee is a writer and historian. Her most recent book, Champagne at Three – The Story of a Trans Mining Engineer, tells the story of her sister, Rebecca Norton. Rebecca was one of the first gender reassignment patients in Victoria in the 1970s and worked as a mining engineer before and after her transition.
Jill has written historical fiction for both adults and children, and has been commissioned to write several works of history including From the Murray to the Sea: the History of Catholic Education in the Ballarat Diocese and the story of one of Ballarat's oldest legal firms, Cuthbert's. She also teaches history at the University of the Third Age, Ballarat.
