Build a Blanket Ladder: DIY Woodwork, Wednesday 22 October, The ReCreators Green Space, Wednesday 22 October 10.30am-2.30pm
Event description
Proudly Brought to you by Auckland Council Waste Solutions
Turn reclaimed wood into a beautiful blanket ladder!
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to design and build your own stylish and functional blanket ladder from reclaimed wood. Perfect for storing and displaying blankets, towels, or even clothes, this project will bring both charm and practicality into your home.
We have two options: treated pine timber which can be painted or sealed or native timber. You will be provided with all materials and tools for the project.
Learn to use sanders, drills and the jigsaw.
Get hands-on experience with power tools and learn safe, effective practices while working with upcycled timber and other reclaimed materials.
There will be a health and safety briefing at the start of the workshop to inform participants of safety precautions before we begin using tools.
All participants must wear covered shoes and non-flowing clothing (tight-ish!). We will be working outside so please bring a hat and drink bottle.
The workshop will provide the following:
Health and safety briefing
Step-by-step use of all tools
Guidance on where to extend yourself for Tools 201
Personal attention where required
Additional wood for sale on site - pre cut or in lenghts
Important Notes
