Research Engagement: Building a Lasting Collaboration with Industry will cover the following topics: 

  • Your role in the research team - the long view from the beginning (the entrepreneurial lens). 
  • Relationship management - maintaining trust; 
  • Maintaining collaboration and commitment - tending to governance and meetings; 
  • Communicate, communicate, communicate – together; 
  • Milestones, outcomes and follow-up for the long term; 
  • When and how to start the conversation about next steps and continuing work; 
  • Tools and frameworks to demonstrate and assess engagement and impact at every step; Maintaining, monitoring or scaling up? 
  • Managing changes in the industry partner: risk management and opportunities.

This workshop is targeted at mid-career researchers, but is open to the entire research community. The workshop will be recorded and uploaded onto the UTS Aspire site after the event. 

The workshop will be presented by Prof Marie Wilson, Outside Opinion and is co-ordinated by UTS Aspire.
