20 questions to turn your idea into a story

Learn to craft a sturdy and compelling story via a list of 20 character-driven questions. This workshop will cover brainstorming, character, plot structure, engaging beginnings and satisfying endings.

   

Learning outcomes

In this workshop, participants will learn to:

  • create characters with authenticity and depth
  • use character motivation to generate satisfying plot
  • transform plot into story structure
  • craft engaging beginnings and satisfying endings

      

    Format

    This is an in-person workshop with a focus on writing craft; it will be held at State Library of Queensland. This workshop is suitable for fiction writers of all levels and writing backgrounds.

        

    About Lili

    Lili Wilkinson is the award-winning author of twenty books for young people, including The Erasure Initiative and A Hunger of Thorns. Lili has a PhD from the University of Melbourne, and is a passionate advocate for YA and the young people who read it, establishing the Inky Awards at the Centre for Youth Literature, State Library of Victoria. Her latest books are Deep is the Fen and Bravepaw and the Heartstone of Alluria.
