The government's Future Made in Australia Fund was the centrepiece of the latest Federal Budget, with $22.7 billion committed to help cement our place as an indispensable part of the global economy.

As Prime Minister Albanese has repeatedly outlined, the Hunter will play a huge role in achieving this ambition. Ahead of us lie big nation-building and region-building endeavours that can propel us forward. 

Our ability to grasp these opportunities will rely on many intersecting and contributing economic and social factors. Our region will strive toward innovation, maintain and grow existing capabilities, and navigate significant change, all while contending with workforce and housing shortages.

Our identity as ‘makers’ of physical and non-physical products will continue to define us, provided we have the means to do so.
