How do artists turn creativity into commerce?
Hear three Wyndham based artists and creative business owners discuss their experiences on how they have made a business out of their passion. They will talk about their journey along with their successes and challenges. Starting a small business requires determination and hard work. Hear from these inspiring people Elizabeth and Catherine Ta, Tamay Beam and Lizzy Jacobs as they consider the aspects of starting a small business in the creative realm.
Presented by Wyndham City Arts & Culture X SPARK Business & Innovation Hub.
Please note arrival at 5:30pm for a 6pm start.
There will be light catering with an opportunity for questions and networking.
About the artists
Astri Studio is a multi-media creative studio founded by two sisters, Elizabeth, and Catherine Ta. Astri Studio is a multi-media creative studio, they specialise in the design and production of high-quality creative merchandise, including art books, stationery, key chains, art prints, and stickers - bringing art and design to life through tangible, inspiring products. Their passion for storytelling drives their work in media production. They create captivating animations and indie video games that engage audiences with compelling narratives and unique artistic vision.
Astri Studios are current Create [SPACE] Artists-in-Residence at SPARK Business and Innovation Hub.
Tamay Beam is a Minjungbal woman from Booningbah, Fingal NSW who runs Tamay Beam Art. Tamay is a multidisciplinary, contemporary Aboriginal artist and has been practicing various art forms for over 10 years, both on a progressional and personal scale. Tamay Beam Art has featured artwork and products available in several galleries and stores across NSW, QLD, and VIC.
Tamay was a First Nations Art Residency at Wunggurrwil Dhurrung Centre in 2024.
Lizzy Jacobs is a personal branding photographer and the founder of Cowork + Create, a coworking and creative space in Melbourne’s West. Lizzy has built her business by combining creativity with strategy, helping entrepreneurs and leaders grow their visibility and confidence through impactful visual content. Her work is all about real connection, storytelling, and empowering others to show up authentically. Over the years, Lizzy has learned how to turn her passion into a sustainable business and is excited to share her journey — the wins, the lessons, and everything in between.

About SPARK Business and Innovation Hub
SPARK is Wyndham City’s Business & Innovation Hub, located at 600 Sneydes Road within the East Werribee Precinct. It is a collaborative space with coworking desks, private office and meeting rooms designed to support Wyndham’s emerging businesses.
