Buttons and Bubbles

Pull out those garments that youve been putting off mending and transform them at a fun Friday afternoon workshop. 

Please join us for our first Buttons & Bubbles workshop on July 12 in the lovely Orakei bay Village at Beach Club Oyster & Kitchen. This is the first of many workshops where we 'set up shop' in community cafes and eateries to help each other thrive. 

Beach Club Oyster & Kitchen has oodles of stunning, sunny space to hang out and mend, plus big wooden tables. What's not to like for mending?! And it's conveniently nestled in Orakei Bay Village between the water and the train station. 

We we're thrilled when management team Kim and Charles said we could bring all our hand mending gear (and a couple of our quiet machines :)) in to help locals keep their clothes alive longer. It's a true win-win for everyone. 

What value will you get at this workshop?

- You'll walk in, sit down and have a refreshing glass of MUMM champagne while you chat to the group about what you're mending on the day. Fab non-alcoholic options available. 

- You'll learn how to properly sew on buttons and hand or machine repair button holes. You'll have access to a range of reasonably priced and interesting buttons too. 

- You'll learn how to quickly fix an unravelling hem on trousers or skirts, or creatively mend a hole - all with just a needle and thread. All resources supplied. 

- You'll have the chance to upycycle the buttons on a garment that's just become a bit boring and needs some "jujj"!

- You'll leave with a new sense of community, a feeling of empowerment, and if you've eaten any of the scrumptious items on the menu, a very happy tummy :)
