Cabbage Tree Palm community planting March 2025
Event description
Join us for our first Cabbage Palm Tree Project Community Planting!
Be part of the Future Proofing the Cabbage Tree Palm Project as we plant around a remnant Livistona australis on a local property in Foxground. After months of planning and trialling fencing and planting techniques, we’re excited to host our first community planting event.
This is a great opportunity to learn about this iconic species, contribute to conservation efforts, and connect with the community.
Schedule
9.30am– Meet at Foxground Fireshed (205 Foxground Rd), park and carpool to site
9.45am – Site induction & project briefing
10.00am – Planting of Cabbage Tree Palms & companion species
11.30am – Morning tea
12.00pm – Return to Foxground Fireshed
What to bring
- Covered shoes, long-sleeved shirt, and long pants (for working in long grass)
- Hat, gloves and your water bottle for outdoor work
You'll be working in an open paddock and will have to walk a short distance. We’ll proceed in light rain but will cancel if conditions are unsafe.
