Event description

Cadet Rangers: Start Your Adventure

Ready to explore what it means to be a ranger? Join us for the first event at David Fleay Wildlife Centre in our new monthly Cadet Ranger series—an immersive, hands-on experience designed for teens aged 13–18 who are curious about conservation, love the outdoors, and want to make a difference. This kick-off session sets the stage for a journey into the world of park protection, wildlife care, and environmental leadership. Over the coming months, you’ll gain real-life skills, meet other young nature lovers, and take on exciting challenges in Queensland’s wild places.

Each session you attend brings you closer to earning your Cadet Ranger badge — celebrating your new skills, your growth, and your commitment to protecting nature. No prior experience needed—just bring your curiosity, enthusiasm, and a sense of adventure!

Please note that these sessions do not include admission to the park for participants outside of the session or for family members.

Proudly supported through funding from the Queensland Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation, this Cadet Ranger session is free for participants. To help bring more free programs to connect children with nature we gratefully accept donations for those who are able to contribute.
