Cajun Moon is a nine-piece Sydney band who will take you through a journey of some hard-grooving tracks from some of the great artists of the 1960s & 70s golden era of funk and soul such as Etta James, Otis Redding and Al Green, with an added dash of New Orleans groove from The Neville Brothers and Dr John.
And for good measure, there’s a few contemporary soul numbers thrown in from the likes of Sharon Jones and Hannah Williams. We will have quite a few well-known favourites for you, but we specialise in dusting off rare tracks from the back of the record crate and breathing new life into them. You may not be as familiar with some great artists such as Marlena Shaw, Charles Wright and Little Milton, but their tunes will have you moving in no time.
So come down to Petersham Bowlo and hear Raf, Camilla and Georgina singing upfront, backed by a powerhouse three-piece horn section and a rock-solid crew on rhythm to take you through a great couple of sets. And don’t forget your dancing shoes!
