    Event description

    In 2023 we celebrate our centenary year. We would love our Carey community to come along and join in the celebrations at our Centenary Fair. Past and present students, staff, families and supporters of the School are all welcome.

    Date: Saturday 1 April 2023, midday–8.00pm
    Location: Carey Baptist Grammar School, Kew Campus

    The Centenary Fair will appeal to all ages and will have a strong family, multicultural and youth focus featuring community groups, food and drink trucks, children’s rides and activities, and live entertainment.

    12.00–5.00pm: Carnival Rides
    12.00–5.00pm: Devonshire Tea
    12.00–5.00pm: Community Stalls
    12.00–5.00pm: Exhibition Sports Match and Activities
    12.00–5.00pm: Tours of new Carey Heritage Trail
    12.00–8.00pm: Food Trucks
    12.00–8.00pm: Live music including Stand and Deliver concert from 5.00pm to 7.15pm
    2.00–8.00pm: Main Bar on Sandell Oval
    2.30pm and 7.30pm: Senior School Production of The Addams Family in the MGH (separate tickets are required to be purchased for this event)

    Entry to the Fair will be free, however tickets will need to be pre-purchased and shown at the entry gate. This event is open to the extended Carey community only.
    Names will need to be provided for each person attending the event. Tickets are non-transferable to people not associated with the School.

    After completing your purchase on this website you will be presented with a confirmation page that summarises your order and confirms your successful purchase. You will also receive an email confirmation of your order and a link to a printable copy of your ticket. Please print your E-Ticket(s) or have them ready to show on your phone at the carnival entry.

    Please note: due to capacity restrictions at the venue, numbers will be limited. If you have booked a ticket and can no longer attend, please follow the instructions on your confirmation email to cancel your ticket. Click on 'Edit Order', then click 'Refunds'. Select the ticket you would like to cancel, then click on ‘Refund’. 

    BUY A WRISTBAND FOR THE RIDES IN ADVANCE  AND SAVE

    Wristbands for unlimited carnival rides can be purchased prior to the day and collected when entering the fair. Wristbands can also be purchased on the day. Prices are below:
    – Junior: pre-purchase price $15, purchase at fair price $20
    – Senior (recommended for Year 3+): pre-purchase price $20, purchase at fair price $25

    Please also note that in case of inclement weather, there will be no refunds for pre-purchased wristbands as the rides still have to be paid for. Supervising adults on rides do not need a wristband.

    Major Rides - Senior 
    - Cha Cha - 130cm ride alone or 110cm with adult
    - Hurricane - 130cm minimum height
    - Music Trip - 130cm minimum height
    - Superslide – 100cm single riders
    - Dodgem Cars - 130cm ride alone or 110cm with adult

    NOTE: We have currently reached our capacity of Senior Wristband Sales. We will monitor numbers on the day and may be able to offer some additional senior wristbands, but this will depend on capacity limits and is not guaranteed.  

    Persons entering the school grounds are deemed to have accepted, and understood as binding on them, these conditions and any accompanying risks, obligations and responsibilities.
    • Antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated, all attendees are to participate in the activities in a safe, reasonable and responsible manner.
    • Persons who are accompanied by minors are responsible for the care, acts or omissions and supervision of those minors at all times.
    • You consent to being photographed or filmed and you consent to be monitored by security cameras.
    • The School may at their sole discretion: a) reserve all rights to change the advertised program or access to certain areas: b) may search your bags, confiscate items, refuse admission or eject you; c) may not allow recording devices and cameras; d) may refuse entry for damaged or defaced tickets.
    • The school grounds is a Smoke-free venue. Smoking and the use of tobacco and/or e-cigarette products is not permitted.
    • Persons entering the school grounds are advised that: a) bringing your own (BYO) alcohol is strictly prohibited: b) Alcohol may only be consumed within designated licensed areas: c) Intoxicated persons will not be permitted to enter: d) intoxicated persons will be removed from the school grounds: e) it is an offence for minors to purchase or consume alcohol and an offence to sell to or supply minors with alcohol; and f) penalties under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic) apply. 
    • Current Carey Students will not be allowed access to the Bar area on Sandell Oval. In line with Child Safety policies the School has made this decision and will not allow current students to enter even if they have turned 18. 
    • The following restricted or prohibited items are not permitted into the School grounds and are subject to immediate confiscation: a) Glass or breakable containers; b) Alcohol and Illicit drugs; c) Flares, pyrotechnics, confetti or ticker tape; d) Any whistle, loud hailer, public address system or other electronic or broadcast device; e) Laser Pointers or any object which might be used to distract, hinder or interfere with the conduct of any event or person taking part in an event; f) Prohibited weapons or controlled weapons within the meaning of the Control of Weapons Act 1990 (Vic); g) Knives or other dangerous weapons including potential missiles; h) Animals unless approved by the school; i) Any object, device or substance that may be used to deface or damage any part of the school grounds, such as any spray paint, sticker or permanent markers;
    • No Adults are permitted on rides unless required to supervise younger children on mechanical rides or children with disabilities where provisions allow and within the guidelines of the ride.
    • The school representatives have full rights and the discretion to cancel the event or individual rides due to weather conditions


    We are aiming for a cashless event; credit card payment facilities will be available.
