About the opportunity:
Casual Studio Access
An affordable studio space enabling work in a variety of media, this productive space will become your studio away from home. The studio is spacious with natural, north light throughout the day. Bring your supplies and select a table or easel for drawing or painting. The high ceiling allows for the creation of larger works. Avoid distraction and focus on your practice, in a relaxing, brightly lit atmosphere in the Art Room Studio.
- Large Co-working studio space for up to 10 artists (1 ticket per person)
- Mondays and Tuesdays for up to 5 hours, 10am - 3pm, bookable weekly
- Location: Kickstart Arts Centre, Art Room, Building 1831 North, 12 St John's Ave, New Town, Tas 7008
Who can apply
- The Art Room Studio is available to all levels and abilities of artists working in any medium
- Artists must complete a 10 minute site induction with the Studio Coordinator on your first visit.
Requirements
- The artist must supply their own materials and tools
Inclusions
- Excellent natural light
- Vinyl flooring, wet area, kitchenette
- Large work tables, easels, chairs, stools, outdoor workbenches
- Palettes, cutting mats, smocks and aprons
- Heating, Wifi, lounge area, urban courtyard
- Ground floor, wheelchair accessible, accessible toilets on-site
- Tea and coffee facilities are available - BYO Milk
Additional Information
- There are no storage facilities available for any work to remain onsite
- All materials and artwork you own must be removed from the site at the end of each session
- Be sure to clean up and store your materials and projects, leaving these spaces neat
- The Open Access Art Room is a shared co-working space
- Printing available - charged per sheet (See Studio Coordinator)
- A small amount of art supplies may be available to purchase, however we strongly encourage you to bring everything you need

Access to the Art Room is from the rear of the 1831 North Building. Buses stop on Main Rd New Town. Parking available in the precinct please follow signed restrictions.
