Catching Light

Event description

Catching Light is an immersive art exhibition featuring paintings, music, and an installation that will engage you in the narrative Eira-Shay has developed over the last year. Join us for a magical night as we celebrate this intimate body of work.

Once, a girl lived in a little house in the forest behind a mountain. She spent her days playing in the woods, climbing trees and playing pretend. This little girl fell in love with the sunlight for its golden comfort; as the last rays disappeared each night, she pondered how to capture it and keep its warmth forever.

She asked the moon, and the moon smiled back but offered no solution. She asked the birds that sang longingly each dusk and dawn. She asked the soft land that unfolded its greenery each dewy morning, but there was no clear answer. She curled up close to the fire in the cold night and whispered, "How do you catch the light?"

The fire crackled warmly, "With shadows, my dear, with shadows." The girl watched as the shadows danced along the room's walls, against her skin and in her heart, as she finally understood.
