Caulfield Park BioBlitz – Celebrating Biodiversity Month
Event description
Celebrate Biodiversity Month with us at the Caulfield Park BioBlitz – a fun and hands-on nature experience for all ages! Reconnect with your local environment, explore the hidden wonders of urban biodiversity, and become part of a growing citizen science movement.
This special event is presented in collaboration with Helen from Friends With Honey, who will share her unique insights into the role of pollinators and native flora in supporting biodiversity in urban spaces.
🐞 Why Caulfield Park?
A hidden gem in Glen Eira, Caulfield Park is rich in both natural and cultural history. Once known as “Paddy’s Swamp” and used by Indigenous communities for fishing, the park now features one of Melbourne’s most diverse tree collections outside the Royal Botanic Gardens.
The lake and surrounding green spaces are home to birds, turtles, fish, insects, and more — making it the perfect setting for a BioBlitz!
What to Bring:
A smartphone or tablet with the iNaturalist app installed (we’ll help you get started!)
Hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle
Comfortable shoes for walking outdoors
Let’s celebrate biodiversity, learn from nature, and make a difference together!
