Description

Chopat is an ancient Indian board game played for thousands of years and enjoyed across generations, with references believed to go back around 7,000 years in texts such as the Mahabharata, where early forms of the game are depicted. It is a simple, team-based game that brings people together through fun, laughter, and shared moments.

Easy to learn and suitable for all ages, it is a perfect family game that encourages connection, gentle brain activity, and social interaction. It can be played in both indoor and outdoor settings, making it ideal for community events, festivals, libraries, schools, and cultural gatherings where people come together to enjoy something meaningful and playful.

The Celebrating Culture Pop-Up is proudly delivered by Arts Out East a Te Tuhi programme, generously funded by the Howick Local Board and supported by Botany Town Centre.
