Central Neighbourhood Walks: South Central
Event description
Discover & discuss inner city life: join a free guided walk led by a local resident in south central inner city Christchurch.
This central city neighbourhood has a network of laneways, new public spaces and interesting local businesses. Get to know this area better by meeting people who live south of Lichfield, between Montreal and Madras and learn about their favourite spaces and places.
This walk is led by Richard Ball. For Richard, living in a city with an attractive and vibrant city centre is important. After many years of commuting, Richard moved into central Christchurch 18 months ago. He is enjoying exploring his new neighbourhood, walks 5 mins to work and is still discovering the new places created by our refreshed city.
All are welcome – whether you live or work in the area or are merely curious about inner city living in Christchurch. The walk finishes with the opportunity to continue the conversation over a coffee (our shout!)
This walk is a tour and a conversation for everyone to share experiences of living and being in inner city neighbourhoods. It is part of a programme of walks funded by Christchurch City Council’s Central City Residential Programme to generate and gather people’s perceptions and experiences of these neighbourhoods as the central city develops.
The walk is free and booking is required.
