Animal Feedings and Behind the Scenes at The Chattanooga Zoo
Description
Visit Chattanooga has a fantastic lineup of tours available to WITS attendees. These day tours are only for attendees with a confirmed ticket in their name to WITS 2026.
Chattanooga Zoo staff will lead the entire group through two animal feeding experiences, a meet and greet with a behind-the-scenes ambassador animal and an up-close encounter with a popular Zoo animal.
The group will feed Aldabra giant tortoises and giraffes and enjoy an up-close meet and greet with a behind-the-scenes ambassador animal.
Then, four smaller groups will split to each visit one different animal exhibit (Red Panda, Meerkat, Giant Anteater, or Prehensile-Tailed Porcupine).
Each encounter experience allows you to go into the habitat with the animal and share their space (besides the Anteater, but you still have direct contact with Betsy the giant anteater). Each experience will be guided by a zookeeper and includes feeding and interacting up close with the animal.
After all of the experiences have concluded, guests are welcome to tour the Zoo until the bus departs.
The Chattanooga Zoo is 14 acres and flat, providing a leisurely stroll through the Cape of Africa, South American jungles, Himalayan mountains, North American plains, and the deserts and forests of the world. Chattanooga Zoo is home to over 500 animals representing 150 different species.
