Event description
Inanna Academy in collaboration with Studio of Secrets, is proud to present the first ever Cherubim event. Aimed at Consent Angels and Dungeon Monitors (and those who are wanting to learn) consent angel team leaders Carly and Trey will join the Studio of Secrets team to present a skill share and discussion panel, before moving into a play party where you can test your space management skills.
For the first 90 minutes of the event, we will focus on consent agent theory - including different models of consent agents in play spaces, strategies to engage with patrons, personal safety taking on the role of a consent agent, and what to look for while on duty. This section of the event will also feature a panel discussion with an opportunity for you to gain specific knowledge during the Q&A segment. While this part of the event is mostly theory-based, we will also engage in practical exercises to encourage a broader understanding of the various talking points.
Taking on the role of a consent angel or dungeon monitor is a practical skill, not just theory. So the event will transition to a play party with ongoing discussion and mentoring as we get our kink on. The will be some pre-planned and performative 'red flags' throughout the event to keep you on your toes and give you some practical experience in dealing with problem play or patrons.
Some of the core concepts we will cover:
- Definitions and terms of the event based consent advocate roles
- Understanding approaches to evaluating and managing risk in a SOP and kink environment
- Bystander effect
- Affect - projecting a persona consistent with the event’s intention
- Social capital
- Types of power
- Consequences and accountability for transgressions or mishaps
- Effective incident reports and escalations
- Responding to guests and incidents -trauma informed
- Personal impact and Self-care in the role of a event based consent advocate
About your presenters:
Trey Emery (she/her)
Engaging, funny and relentlessly geeky. Trey Emery is a sex-nerd and professional consent advocate. Delightfully misusing her corporate consulting training and turning her degrees into pevertables, she is the founder of Inanna Academy; a social enterprise for the ethically non-monogamous and kink communities. Its purpose is to educate, empower and advocate. She is passionate about empowering people to have positive sexual experiences, whether that is at a sex party with hundreds of guests or just between partners alone.
Carly
Carly is a passionate consent advocate with four years of hands-on experience supporting the ethically non-monogamous and kink communities. She’s all about creating safer, more welcoming spaces where people can explore their desires with confidence.
She has introduced—and contributed to the introduction of the Consent Angel framework at several ENM, kink, and BDSM events, including the creation and co-creation of consent guides. She’s also stepped into the role of Consent Manager (aka Archangel), leading and supporting teams of Consent Angels on the ground.
With leadership experience in the corporate world and a diploma in event management, Carly is a total all-rounder when it comes to creating events that are fun, safe, and thoughtfully run. Equal parts passionate and socially awkward, she brings a mix of warmth, humor, and real-world insight to everything she does. Whether supporting individuals at events, speaking on panels, or helping communities navigate boundaries and communication, Carly makes consent education both approachable and empowering. From cozy gatherings to high-energy parties, she’s all about building a culture of respect, enthusiastic agreement, and authentic connection.
