Event description

This essential face-to-face workshop will focus on your obligations as an Early Childhood Educator and as a mandatory reporter ensuring that you have updated knowledge of your roles and responsibilities to protect children.

We will look at child-focused practices to ensure we are creating a child-safe environment for all children. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on current day-to-day practices within their services and look at ways to support and embed practices that support child safety.

We will ensure you explore the varying types of abuse and some possible indicators and unpack the importance of documentation. Ensuring all educators understand their obligations, policies and the process to follow in the case of possible risk of significant harm is essential.

Researching documents such as Rights of the Child and the Code of Ethics will be a wonderful opportunity to deepen understanding and practices.

We will look over and reflect on NSW Child Safe Standards to ensure educators develop a clear understanding of ongoing and continual improvement in child safe practices and maintaining a child safe organisation.

To allow you to support families we will unpack some great services and resources that you can access as needed.

For all service types (LDC, FDC and OSHC)
