Christall Lowe's Official Kai Feast Book Launch and Hākari
Event description
Join us for an unforgettable evening at Te Puia, where kai, manaakitanga and storytelling unite for the launch of Christall Lowe's newest book Kai Feast.
With a magnificent feast to celebrate, including mouthwatering dishes infused with the flavours of Aotearoa, the evening promises to be a feast of dishes, stories and waiata that go far beyond the plate – an inspiring fusion of kai and kōrero.
Christall (Ngāti Kauwhata, Tainui, Ngāti Maniapoto) is not just an award-winning author and food photographer, she is an incredible visual storyteller and creative, a master at weaving stories that resonate and connect. Her acclaimed cookbook Kai – Food Stories and Recipes from My Family Table won Best First Book at the 2023 Ockham NZ Book Awards, and was named by Newsroom as "the cookbook of the year".
Her latest book Kai Feast is another stunning, beautifully illustrated story of feasting – a bountiful basket of kai and kōrero gathered from the mountains to the sea.
Complimentary glass of wine on arrival, followed by kai hākari (feast), kōrero and waiata, and the opportunity to buy both books with a book signing at the end of the evening.
Nau mai, haere mai ki te kai hākari wainene!
