It gave me so much more than I expected

Christmas Baby Massage | Thurs | 11 to 12 | GRAFT, Kings Heath
The weeks before Christmas with a small baby can feel full and a bit unsettled. This gives you somewhere calm to be on Thursday mornings in December, and a routine you'll use every evening long after the decorations come down.
The Wednesday course filled and there was a waiting list, so this is a shorter Christmas mini on Thursdays. December is a short month, so it runs over three weeks rather than five.
Over three weeks you'll learn the full baby massage routine. We start with legs, feet and tummy (including the strokes that help with wind), then move on to chest, arms and hands, and finish with face and back. In the last week it all comes together into a ten-minute massage you can do at home, with a festive touch and keepsake
Slow, steady touch helps a young baby's nervous system settle. Over the weeks you'll also get to know their cues: the little signs they're loving it, and the ones that mean they've had enough. It's a small group, just mum and baby, and you can feed, cuddle or pause whenever your baby needs to. If they sleep through the whole thing, that still counts. Twins are welcome at no extra cost.
What you take home:
a short demo video each week, a PDF guide to the full routine, massage oil, a keepsake made for your baby, and a WhatsApp group with the other mums that's still there after the course ends.
Dates: Thursdays 3, 10 and 17 December, 11 to 12
Where: Graft Pilates, Kings Heath
Suitable for: 6 weeks to fully rolling

Baby Massage is usually most suitable from around 6 weeks until babies become able to roll. In most cases, premature babies would attend in line with their adjusted age (dependent on their medical history)
Just whatever you’d normally bring for yourself and your baby. Mats, oils and class materials are provided.
Sessions include gentle baby massage, relaxed discussion, responsive settling, and space to slow down a little together. The atmosphere is calm and unhurried.
Something easy to remove and put back on comfortably. Babies are usually massaged in just their nappy so they can enjoy skin-to-skin contact and movement freely. something comfortable for you to sit in.
I know life with a baby can be unpredictable. If space allows, I’ll always try to offer either a catch-up session in a future block or a Baby Yoga space instead. Videos are sent following the sessions.
The first session is designed for one parent and baby, and we can discuss partners or family members attending if this is suitable amongst the group.
The environment is designed to feel warm, calm and responsive to babies’ needs. Feeding, changing, cuddling, moving around and taking breaks are all completely welcome.
There are car parks off the high street, pay to park, and 90 minutes free options at Aldi and Asda. There is also residential parking nearby.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, but there’s never any pressure to socialise at all. Conversation is facilitated or tends to happen naturally and is optional. Some mums choose to meet up after the classes.

All the while mums are able to wind down, reflect and connect with other mums. Would definitely recommend this baby class to new mums and take it up myself again if I had another.
