    Event description

Following a Sausage Sizzle / BBQ either Tours of the ship will be conducted or there will be a presentation in Shed 13 (see note below).

The Clipper Ship City of Adelaide is the world's oldest clipper ship. Built in Sunderland, England, and launched on 7 May 1864.

The City of Adelaide was built by William Pile, Hay and Co. for transporting passengers and goods between Britain and Australia. Between 1864 and 1887 the ship made 23 annual return voyages from London and Plymouth to Adelaide, South Australia. During this period, she played an important part in the migration to Australia.

Note: They are planning to lift the ship 1.5 metres in January, prior to moving it onto land in March.  If the visit clashes with the lift, a tour is not possible.  If so the visit will consist of a film in Shed 13, plus an up-close experience to the lift, with a technical description of what is happening.

    Sausage Sizzle / BBQ at 6:00 p.m.
