Description

Previous participants of PSC’s Climate Café Facilitator Training are invited to continue the learning journey in Climate Café InterVision, a series of peer-to-peer support sessions for those facilitating, or working towards facilitating, Climate Cafés in their own community.

Our InterVision sessions for Climate Café Facilitators have been running since 2023 and we've been delighted to facilitate many vibrant and helpful conversations with emerging and experienced Climate Café facilitators. This is an opportunity to continue those conversations with those who wish to gather in 2026 for facilitated peer-to-peer support.

Topics that may be discussed:

Facilitation of Climate Cafés in disaster-affected communities.
Intergenerational conversations
Framework of the Climate Café Model and Best Practice
Finding a co-facilitator
Managing Grief in a Climate Café
Personal preparedness to facilitate a Climate Café

Psychology for a Safe Climate (PSC) is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2010 in Melbourne, Australia, to foster emotional engagement with climate change. PSC was founded in response to the lack of individual and community commitment to address the climate emergency.

We aim to increase understanding and engagement with the psychological impact of climate change.

Purpose

Our purpose is to support people in facing the reality of the climate emergency. We aim to build community capacity to respond constructively to climate change by promoting and strengthening mental health and wellbeing.

We engage with those working and volunteering in organisations on climate change, the caring professions, and the broader community.

Events

We provide Professional Development for psychologists and other mental health professionals working at the intersection of climate change and mental health, and training and workshops to strengthen and support individuals, climate activist communities, and workplace and volunteer teams working in sectors feeling the impacts of climate change on their communal mental health. (environment, sustainability, etc).

We also present community workshops and talks, all with the aim of helping to foster emotional engagement with climate change.

General Terms & Conditions of online bookings for PSC events on Humanitix:

Registration and payment:

For public workshops and training, payment must be made upfront to secure a place.
For organisational workshops, it may be possible to be invoiced (payment is still required prior to the workshop date.) Please enquire if you need this option.

Fee Assistance: Anyone experiencing financial hardship is encouraged to contact PSC on info@psychologyforasafeclimate.org.au for assistance in attending a workshop or event.

Refund Policy:

Climate Cafes: For our regular, monthly, Community Climate Cafés, registrants are able to return their own ticket for a full refund up to 24 hrs prior to the event, via the link in their Humanitix confirmation email. We encourage you to return your ticket if you cannot attend as this allows us to track expected numbers at the Café, and also allows someone else to attend if the Café was full.
Training, Professional Development, Organisational Cafés and workshops: please contact us to discuss. In most circumstances, a refund will not be offered, but a credit for the session may be given.

Event Cancellation: PSC reserves the right to cancel a workshop or event due to low enrolment or other issues, in which case a full refund will be offered.

Event Postponement: it is very rare that a PSC event is postponed, but if it is necessary, existing registrants will be moved to the new event date, notified via the email supplied when registering, and offered the opportunity of a refund if the new date is not suitable. Unless advised by a stated deadline, it will be assumed that registrants can attend the new date. Requests for refunds after the deadline, will be treated as per the above policies.

Complaints: Participants can address complaints by contacting PSC on info@psychologyforasafeclimate.org.au
