Event description

Climate Canons is a sustainable and inclusive sound-to-colour fun magical art installation that invites visitors to make tiny personal changes in their lives to support our natural world.

There will be a max of 30 persons at each of six sessions over two days. On arrival, visitors step into the hush of an immersive space with recorded sound music. They sit at tables and relax with a glass of Australian organic tea while thinking about what they are going to change in their life. Ideas can be whispered as rhythms and expressed in dots and lines on paper. When ready participants can then simply tap out the rhythm of their personal promise with a mallet on a tuned Thai Gong. The sound created, magically leaps across the air to its nearby sculptured cannon. Participants witness their promise (canon) shoot out from top of the cannon as bright coloured light, and ripple out beyond vision into the atmosphere.

The colour of sounds is a wonderful natural phenomenon that some people are gifted to see naturally everyday.

The project is about how positive energy ripples out to affect others. It’s about belonging to the global community who care for plants, animals and people. It’s about healing eco-anxiety. Visitors take home a tiny gong memento they create

Climate Canons supports traditional spiritual beliefs that say nature is sensitive to what we do.
