The WA Landcare Network is partnering with Southern Forests Community Landcare, South West Catchments Council and Gondwana Link to present this Climate Resilience Forum. 

'Boodjarra Gabba Koorling' will be an all-day forum on Friday 10 September in Manjimup. We will provide thought provoking presentations and panel discussions to assist landcare groups, farmers, businesses and the community navigate the topic.

The forum program will include:

  • Welcome to Country, Wadandi/Pibulmun Elders
  • 'Noongar perspectives on Boodjarra Gabba Koorling', Wadandi/Pibulmun Elders
  • 'Climate impacts now and projections for the south west', Dr Bill Hare, Climate Analytics.
  • 'Climate change, water planning and resilience', Ben Drew, Director Water and Ecosystem Planning, DWER
  • 'Water for agriculture in a changing climate', Richard George, Senior Principal Research Scientist, DPIRD.
  • 'Water for Wellbeing: Culture, Environment and Emotion', Professor Pierre Horwitz, Director Centre of People, Place and the Planet, Edith Cowan University.
  • How do we navigate the different demands on water and the diminishing supply?
    Panel Discussion including Wadandi/Pibulmun Elders, Richard George, Prof. Pierre Horwitz and Dr Bill Hare.
  • 'Legal foundations for the regulation of farm water use and how it may affect environmental flows', Alex Gardner, Water Lawyer, Law School, University of WA.
  • 'Best practice examples of water use efficiencies can they make a difference?' Rohan Prince, Director Horticulture, DIPRD.
  • 'Water Perspectives' 
    Panel Discussion including Jeremy Bower, CEO Southern Forests Irrigation Cooperative Ltd; John Kilrain, Manjimup Water Security Group; Kirsten Lilly, Save Our Donnelly River Association; Jess Beckerling, WA Forest Alliance; Emeritus Professor John Bailey; and Rohan Prince, Director Horticulture, DPIRD.
